Understanding is the reward of faith; therefore seek not to understand that you may believe, but believe that you may understand. — St. Augustine

Lutheran Bible Institute's 50 year of history reflects its strong commitment to the Great Commission, biblical training and spiritual growth – equipping the saints to impact the world for Christ.

Lutheran Bible Institute in California is a non-profit organization which has been in existence for over fifty years. Our goal was and continues to deliver faith-based studies of God’s Word transforming people into lifetime servants of the Gospel.

As an independent pan-Lutheran mission that serves all Lutheran people, we advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ by teaching the Scriptures as God’s Word, consistent with our Lutheran Confessional heritage.

Our purpose is to promote a passion for life-long learning, through Bible study and prayer that manifests itself in daily life. In this, our goal is to promote a living faith that is active in love. We devote our effort to teach and to form youth and adults of all ages.

We offer these studies at our House of Biblical Studies held on the Concordia University/Irvine campus as well as in the congregations. We use pastors and professors from the local area as well as adjunct professors and retired clergy and theologians as our instructors.
